HPL technology is able to achieve long-term hair removal results at a fraction of the energy level used in other light-based hair removal equipment. HPL technology is the technology of pulsed light hair removal is based on the theory of selective photothermolysis. In this method, the optical energy is used to block the growth of the hair. For this thermal effect, the hair shaft needs to selectively absorb light energy and transform it into heat. This selectivity is due to the fact that the high optical power applied to the tissue is primarily absorbed by the pigment of the hair shaft while the skin and surrounding tissue are cooled actively (by a cooling mechanism). Who can use it

In general, light based hair removal is not suitable for naturally darker skin tones. The Lescolton HPL features a built-in skin colour sensor that measures the complexion and will only work on suitable skin tones. Whilst black and dark brown hair works best with the Lescolton HPL, lighter brown hairs also respond however they may need a few more treatments. Red, white, grey and blonde hair may show a response and will require more treatments.

Both men and women can use the Lescolton HPL. However, due to our biological differences, male hair may require a few more sessions to achieve the desired results. Most IPL systems complete treatment plan require 10 sessions, done about two weeks apart. And 1-2 more sessions per year for keeping maintenance and eliminating new hair growth.
