The Royal Aircraft Factorys Scout Experimental 5 or S.E. 5a was a fast, stable and relatively manoeuvrable fighter introduced into RAF service in 1917. The S.E. 5a was fitted with a combination fuselage-mounted .303 Vickers and upper-wing mounted .303 Lewis machine gun, making it ideal for attacking high-flying enemy aircraft from below without being observed. In an effort to meet demand, six different companies went on to manufacture a total of 5,265 aircraft! Marking this centenary year of the founding of the Royal Air Force, Revells kit features finely finished parts with a fully detailed engine, cockpit and undercarriage.
