The EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM has an ultra wide focal range covering 17.6mm to 35.2mm (35mm format equivalent), revealing a different world with incredibly wide field of view and unique perspective that allows users to re-discover the environment and subjects around them. Breathtakingly wide open landscapes can be captured, and more elements can be included in the composition when shooting in limited space for expanded creative possibilities. Engineered using Canons latest optical technologies, the lens features a newly developed 12 lens elements in 9 groups optical lens construction with 1 Ultra-Low Dispersion (UD) lens element to minimize chromatic aberration and color blurring and 2 aspherical lens elements to correct various types of aberration, resulting in high image quality across the entire zoom range. Lens coatings are optimized for digital cameras to ensure excellent color balance and minimize ghosting and flare. Its 7-blade circular aperture is capable of producing beautiful bokeh for stunning portraits, landscapes and EOS Movie. With a minimum focusing distance of 0.15m and 0.3x maximum magnification, the lens brings enhanced flexibility to capture tiny subjects in close range for dramatic shots showing sharp and clear details.

The EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM offers excellent shake compensation for easy capture of every shooting moment day and night. The lens incorporates an Image Stabilizer to provide shake compensation up to 3-stop shutter speed*, correcting camera shake to ensure high quality stills with exceptional clarity even when shooting at slow shutter speeds under dim environment. The Image Stabilizer supports Dynamic IS, made specially for EOS Movie shooting, which uses a wide image stabilization correction range to ensure steady full HD EOS Movie when shooting handheld while walking.

The EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM employs a Stepping Motor (STM) for fast, quiet and smooth continuous AF in Live View shooting and supports full-time manual focus. This also brings exceptional Movie Servo AF during EOS Movie shooting, guaranteeing smooth AF result that follows the subjects movement to achieve smooth and clear movies with ease.

Being a dedicated lens for EOS M digital camera, the EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM matches the compact and chic shooting style of EOS M perfectly. Adopting a lens-retraction mechanism, the first for EF lens range, the lens can be shortened to a mere 58.2mm in length when not in use, enhancing portability so it can be easily carried everywhere.
