When working with higher freq (satellite) use low loss cable, like RG6Q rather than RG59.
Terminations should be with F type connectors.
Another diplexer may be located close to the satellite box and terrestial receiver where it will separate back out bothsignals from the same run of coax.
You can hide the diplexer inside the wall and connect it to the rear of a double F type wall plate like the PR3860 or PR3880
