A New Era

Kratos finds himself in the frozen Norse wilderness seeking to teach his son Arteus how to live in this broken and cruel world. Soon though he is drawn deep into the world of the powerful gods of Norse mythology, and must fight to survive in the untamed lands.

With the past catching up to him, Kratos must question the very nature of his own son and the potentially harmful lineage he possesses, before the old rage that consumed Kratos strikes down another innocent victim.

God of War will again focus on the brutal and visceral combat that was the staple of the original trilogy, while a new over the shoulder camera promises to make the action tighter and more personal than ever before.

Weapon of Choice

Kratos' new War Axe operates as your main weapon, providing the perfect tool to carve a path through waves of powerful Norse gods and their minions. Imbued with magical properties, this is a multifaceted weapon capable of more than just hacking away at a crowd.
