La Linea is a classic animated series created by Italian cartoonist Osvaldo Cavandoli.

First appearing in 1969 on Italian television was introduced as part of Lagostina's advertising campaign for their kitchenware. By 1971, La Linea took on a life of its own and became one of the most exported animated series worldwide.

This sharp little man with the expressive nose and Latin temperament became one of the most loved animated characters in Italy and appeared in television sets in over 40 countries including our own ABC channel.

Mr Linea lives in a two dimensional world consisting of a white line of which he is part, Appearing from left to right of screen in monochromatic backdrops, he encounters obstacles and dangerous situations resulting in slapstick hilarity. Unimpressed by these turn of events, he will constantly argue with his off screen creator, of whom we only see his hand, expressing his frustration in his Italian sounding gibberish voiced by Carlo Bonomi.

This La Linea collection features all 90 episodes: 01-08 (1971 series) 101-156 (1978 series) 200-226 (1986 series)
