Richard Linklater co-writes and directs this American comedy drama starring Steve Carell, Bryan Cranston and Laurence Fishburne. Based on the novel by Darryl Ponicsan, the film follows Vietnam veterans Sal Nealon (Cranston), Larry 'Doc' Shepherd (Carell) and Richard Mueller (Fishburne) as they embark on a road trip to bury Doc's son, who was killed while serving in Baghdad. Having not spoken since serving together, the trio have all undergone significant changes since they last met but they nevertheless reunite to join Doc in burying his son. However, when he decides against a burial at Arlington, the old friends find they have a longer road ahead as Doc learns more about his son along the way.
