The two 'arms' on a motor are called tines, and these extend into the side of a roller door to engage the drum wheel. This drum wheel has points where the tines engage the wheel, allowing the motor to engage the roller door freely.
On Gliderol doors, this drum wheel was mounted further into the roll of the door, as Gliderol motors naturally had longer tine arms. This prevented other brands from operating Gliderol doors. However, Merlin designed these extension arms to slot into the tines of an MR850EVO or MR855EVO, to allow it to engage the drum wheel of Gliderol doors.
Installation / Compatibility
Please note that the Merlin Extension Arm Kit is only compatible with the Merlin MR850, MR850EVO and the MR855EVO. To install, simply place the Bracing Bracket on and screw it to the motors Sungear. Then insert the poles into the end of the tines, and screw them in.
Your Merlin motor should now engage the drum wheel of your door.
