About the Author and the Illustrator

Brenda is the author of books and educational material for children of all ages. Her titles include the chapter books Trusty Trekkers and Lizard Tongue and the illustrated information book Monster Sharks: Megalodon and other prehistoric predators of the deep.

In 2014 Brenda was awarded second place in the Sutherland Shire Writers' Festival picture book writing competition. She was also awarded two prizes in the 2018 CYA Conference writing competition- first place in Chapter books for younger children and third place in Chapter books for older children. She is an accredited editor with the Institute of Professional Editors in Australia.

Brenda lives in the Macedon Ranges in Victoria.

Helene Magisson started her artistic career as a painting restorer in Paris, where she was also trained in the art of medieval illumination. She has lived in countries all over the world, including Africa, France, and India. She loves to discover other cultures through their arts and customs as she believes that cultural diversity is always an enrichment.
