About the Author

Jim Davidson is a historian and biographer based in Melbourne. His biographies of historian Keith Hancock and musical patron Louise Hanson-Dyer have won half a dozen prizes, including the Prime Minister's History Prize, the Victorian Premier's prize for non-fiction and The Age Non-fiction Book of the Year. With Peter Spearritt, he wrote Holiday Business, a history of tourism in Australia. His latest book with NLA Publishing, Moments in Time: A Book of Australian Postcards, is a product of Jim's lifelong interest in postcards.
