While attending Harvard Law School, Ruth begins to feel that her position is considered of lesser value than that of her male student peers and continually experiences first-hand discrimination. After being rejected for professional roles despite her qualifications, Ruth sets out to expose gender prejudice in the law and challenges numerous gender-related issues before the Supreme Court in a push for equality. The cast also includes Armie Hammer, Justin Theroux and Kathy Bates.
