About the Author

Author/illustrator Louise Pfanner has had a number of successful books, including Louise Builds a House and Louise Builds a Boat. She has also written for Playschool, and illustrated Playschool's The Green Book. Louise has an MA in Children's Literature, and is a well-known reviewer of children's books. She lives in Sydney with her husband and two of her four sons.

About the Illustrator

Kim Gamble has been drawing and painting for as long as he can remember and has become one of Australia's favourite illustrators of children's books. He was born in Sydney in 1952 and now lives in a small country town in NSW. In 1988 he began illustrating for NSW School Magazine and his first colour picture book The Magnificent Nose and Other Marvels, written by Anna Fienberg won the 1992 Children's Book of The Year Award for Younger Readers. The author-illustrator partnership between Kim Gamble and Anna Fienberg is one of the most successful in children's book publishing. Kim works full-time as an illustrator and regularly conducts workshops in schools.
