KERATIN
Hair is made up of 90% keratin, an extremely strong protein which is a major component in the hair, skin and nails. Keratins in the hair have large amounts of the sulfur-containing amino acid cysteine, it combines to form disulfide bridges that confer additional strength and rigidity by permanent, thermally-stable cross-linking. These strong bonds are flexible yet tough.
AMINO ACIDS
Amino acids are the basis of proteins that make up hair. These include serine, threonine, valine, arginine, aspartic acid, alanine, proline, isoleucine, phenylalanine and histidine. These amino acids have a natural affinity with hair and can penetrate the cuticle providing moisture deeper inside the hair shaft.
