Vodeana, a wise fairy from the magic world, lives in the human world disguised as an old lady. She is a breeder of very special cats and sometimes, in a litter, a kitten is born that is destined for magical powers. When Swankypants and his sister Chatterbox are old enough to leave their mother, they begin a new life with a family who have three children and many animals. One summer's day, Swankypants discovers that he will own a very special collar which can take him on magical journeys. But, what he doesn't know is that Amazina Twink wants the collar for herself, and has sent Major Black to steal it so she can be freed from the enchanted forest . . .
