Snatch straps work by storing and transferring energy from one vehicle to another, causing the strap to stretch and pop the stuck vehicle free from the bog. It is recommended that the Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) of the strap be between two and 3 times the vehicles gross mass (GVM) and that the strap must be suited to the GVM for the lighter of the two vehicles being used in the recovery process.
